The Airplane Edition is a 40-card conversation deck designed specifically for flying — from boarding to landing and everything in between. Each prompt is written to feel natural in an in-flight setting, helping travel time feel like part of the journey instead of something to get through.
This deck is conversation-based with no rules, scoring, or setup. Simply draw a card and respond at your own pace. Questions range from light and imaginative to reflective and introspective, making it easy to spark meaningful conversations at 30,000 feet.
Whether you’re traveling solo, with a partner, family, or friends, these prompts create connection during flights, layovers, and airport downtime. Designed in a compact poker-size format, the cards fit easily into seat pockets, carry-ons, and backpacks.
Sample Questions
- “If you could give one piece of advice to a first-time flyer, what would it be?”
- “If you could rename this airline, what would you call it?”

I was very pleasantly surprised by this. My son is autistic, so I am always looking for good conversation starters to build his skills talking to other people about things other than what he gets really excited about.
This set, the airplane set, is designed specifically to be done while traveling by plane. This is not explicitly mentioned in the description, which is unfortunate, since this is the main selling point that sets it apart for me.
The questions were all obviously designed to be asked on a plane, though all but a few could be used anywhere. The purpose of conversation starters is to get people engaged, and tailoring the questions to the present surroundings and activities makes them much more fun and relevant, especially for young people (and people with autism).
The questions are all very well thought out, and they can lead to several different types of conversations, such as:
Simple - "What is your favorite travel snack or drink?"
Creative - "If you could design your dream airplane seat, what would it look like?"
Introspective - "How has travel changed the way you see the world?"
In the moment - "If you could swap seats with anyone on this flight, who would it be and why?"
Reminiscent - "What is your favorite travel memory."
I can't wait to use these, and am only disappointed that we have no cross country flights planned. This makes me really want to buy some of the other sets that involve things my family does much more often, such as National Parks and Road Trip. Sadly, of all the sets, air travel is the one that do least often, so I will probably just modify the questions that involve being in an airplane when the question is asked. I imagine it will not have the same impact as using them on a flight, but the questions are good enough on their own that it will be worth doing.
I would highly recommend this, whether it is for building conversation skills, filling lulls in a conversation, or to pass time while traveling. The questions are much better than most other conversation starters that I have seen before. In other conversation decks, I usually skip at least half the questions. In this deck, I found all of the cards interesting.
This makes flying so much more enjoyable! I don’t always want to watch TV so this is a fun alternative and it’s small enough to fit right in my bag’s side pocket.
